SZENTIMRE CAMPS

WHO ARE WE?
What we all have in common is that the Szentimre Camps were not the first experience of working with children for any of us: the team includes a teacher, psychologists working with kindergarten children and scout leaders, among others.
We all love Szentimre very much: even those who have no family ties or childhood memories from here have become honorary citizens of the village during the camps. We are good friends outside the camps too, thanks in large part to our shared experiences from Szentimre. Some of us introduce ourselves below...

Dávid Scheffler
He lives in Germany, working as a video postproducer, freelance filmmaker and director of children's film courses. The bilingually raised son of a Hungarian mother from Marosváráshely (Târgu MureÈ™, Romania), he has a strong connection to Szentimre, the birthplace of his grandfather József Csiszér.
Despite the distance, it is yet another home for him.

Borcsa Lőrincz
Sociologist, researcher of education.
She started working with children living in deep poverty more than
ten years ago.
It happened sometime in the early 1990s that she became a Szentimre kid through her adopted grandfather, József Csiszér, who always ended his tales of the cunning fox with the line: "If you don't believe this,
come to Szentimre!"

Noémi Losonci
Kindergarten teacher. She is currently practising her profession in Bucharest, but has also gained experience in several village kindergartens in recent years. Born and raised in Szentimre, she has been involved in the camp works from the very beginning. In her spare time, she collects herbs, organises children and youth events and runs the zither group she founded in 2019 in her home village.

Aliz Ittzés
She works as a psychologist in Budapest with children and parents.
Earlier she gained experience in the children's welfare sector and she also volunteered a lot with disadvantaged children. Nyárádszentimre was a significant location in her childhood, where has been delighted to return
for the camps.

Ambrus Ittzés
He studied linguistics at the
ELTE Faculty of Humanities, currently he works as a journalist, editor. Nyárádszentimre has been very special to him since his childhood. He was still a young boy in 2013 when he made a documentary about life in the village.

Eszter Bencze
She works as a psychologist in a secondary school and at a private children's clinic. In the past,
she organized extracurricular activities and camps for disadvantaged children as a volunteer.
She has been a member of the Szentimre Summer Camp team for two years. Although she is not a huge hiker,
she fell in love with the
area of the mountain Bekecs.

Janka Prőhle
She graduated with a Sociology BA, currently she is studying at the drama instructor program of the University for Theatre and Film Arts, Budapest.
She is a member of the Red Swallow Pedagogical Collective and the College of Architecture Students.
She used to volunteer with disadvantaged children, and she also learnt a lot as an apprentice of theatre pedagogy in a German theatre.
She loves Szentimre and the camp, this year she returns for the 7th time.

Miklós Ittzés
He is an MA student of Social Policy. He has been working with children since he was a teenager, he gained experience as a scout leader,
among other activities.
Nyárádszentimre has been the place of significant events in his life since his childhood: his path led from cowherding to camping.

Kamilla Sólyom
She is in the 3rd year of her Psychology BA program. She started working with children in the Regnum Marianum Catholic Community in the last year of high school.
Although she is a relatively new member of the Szentimre Camp team, she participates with great enthusiasm. Time spent with kids always gives her energy.

Klára Ittzés
She is studying to be a teacher of Biology and German language and she is a member of the Eötvös Special College. She has been a scout for more than ten years;
she is a unit leader. She has also volunteered at church events and
as a tutor. The first time she visited Szentimre she was still a child, and she's been up for game ever since.

Dorka Ittzés
She graduated high school this year and she is applying to study Psychology at university. She has been spending time with children for many years, especially as a babysitter and scout. When she was a little girl, she visited Szentimre a few times, and she treasures happy memories from that period. The 2025 summer camp is her first.

Péter Kovács
He grew up in Szentimre and enjoys exploring the world. Alongside other Transylvanian volunteering programs he takes part in local initiatives, too. He is graduating high school this year, plays the zither in several bands and loves to play.
They were also our volunteers...
